I just thought I would take a few to fill you guys all on what has been going on. I am proud to say that this year has been rocking and rolling since it started. I am in the midst of releasing several albums of music that have been delayed for this reason or that. Yet finally have been getting some traction and grinding it down!

Where to start, well I have been enjoying these past few months playing with some great bunch of folks at our church, Restoration Church here in Georgia. I have been really blessed by playing not only Guitar but Keyboards as well. I have been able to sharpen my skills and been able to praise the LORD thru music and being apart of a great worhsip team. I probably can say a lot more about all of that but I think I will have to wait for another blog posting LOL

As I mentioned above we are releasing several CD’s or album releases that have for one reason or another been held up and we are finally getting out on the road. Some of thes songs or tracks go back a few years , some are pretty recent. There are a LOT of rocking guitar jams on “DIVINE INSPIRATION” and a few other still yet to be heard that are going to be released on a yet album that has no name. This work is one of my personal favs with songs such as Still in Love, Leaves, Move it and Afterglow. The electric guitar is the primary instrument in those songs. A lot of instrumental Rock and smooth jazz perhaps?

Then there is this great new releases called “Refractions of Light” which is a New Age, meditative, film cues based release. I made this music to primarily help me to relax and unwind. I thought it was great for meditation and chilling. So if you are looking to find music to help you calm down , relax or un wind from a busy day or hectic schedual this release maybe just what the doctor ordered. The link provided is from the google play store where a lot of my music is.

Here is a link to the iTunes store where you can hear this album and many more tracks with a lot more being added weekly!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/mark-allan-wolfe/id316524485

Another album that was released this week was “Moments in Time” is a hard rocking, heavy metal , emotional metal hard album. Filled with fast paced rock n roll , emotions and grit. Some of my favs on this album are “Dementia”, “Into the Fire”, “Showdown” and one of my favorites “Your There” These are all instrumental except “I see right through” where the vocals are done by my friend Mike Grant. I will be sharing more links as the days unfold for all of these as well.

The music that is being released will be on over 150 different online retailers as well as some regular stores in the future. I will be making some links available with in the next few days on my website(s) as well as blogs, yet you can find it as well by doing a search online for my name I believe as well. Soon I will have a major one stop shopping page on my main website where you will be able to purchase music, gear, art work and other things from the store. For those of you out there who are interested in using the music for your films, T.V or Web services or where ever, feel free to email me or give a call so we can set this up for you.We will be making the licensing store available online as well as working with some great libraries and other music publishing companies to make the music more widely available.

I would really be thankful if some of you folks out there who like to listen to music and write reviews would kindly get in touch with us or write your own reviews. If you are interested in writing your reviews for this website I would be very thankful and humbled. I have nearly 3,000 songs available with more added every day.

Finally I am humbled to share that a lot of my music is being heard globally on many cable and basic TV stations and programing such as

Discovery Channel Networks, History Channel, A&E, True Tv, Velocity Channel, ABC, NBC, CBS . As well as several global brands like, Unileaver,Microsoft, Home Depot and many many more.  – See more at: http://markallanwolfe.com/projects.html

I have a lot of other things going on as well with one of them being that I will be soon posting some podcasts or 15 min or so internet radio sho like where I will be sharing just what ever is on my heart to sharing. I would love it if you would be kind enough to let me know what you think about the music, the show or art work or what ever. I m very thankful that all of you out there support the music , and encourage others like me daily. I am so blessed to have such wonderful fans who not only purchase the music but whom pray for my family and I daily.

I will try not to wait so long on the next blog posting lOL. I have a lot to say yet as to how I get these song ideas, the story behind recording them, the people I meet and such. Keep on rocking in the free world while it is yet still free ….peace

This is a NEW song by Composer Mark Allan Wolfe called “SLOW DANCE” It is a electric blues, slow groove with HEAVY R&B influences as well as some others. I was trying to create something different than I always do. A song that starts out with piano and slowly then adding other guitars and instruments to slowly build the song. I wrote it with the intention of placing vocals over it at some point just have yet to find the vocalist or the lyrics. Any ideas? Let me know

Microphone recording tips August 19, 2014

I found this cool website the other day while looking for some info and wanted to share this and a few other things with you all. I hope you take some time to look thru this to help you make a few better recordings. This info was written by someone over at recordinghacks.com .

RecordingHacks is an online magazine about recording gear and techniques and the world’s best microphone database and search engine. Please feel free to share any of your thoughts or ideas that have helped you thru the years!!

If you are a singer, voice actor, producer or, recording engineer, here are ten items worth considering for an effective voice recording session.

  • Tart Green Apple
This is a common remedy for sticky, clicky mouth noise. The tartness gets the mouth wet. You don’t have to eat the whole thing, just a little bite as needed during the session. There are many other remedies (that don’t go bad as quickly). So, bring a tart apple or find something else that tames the mouth noise.
  • Comfortable Headphones
I really hate listening on headphones for long periods of time. I sympathize with performers who may be working in them for hours. Make sure the cans are comfy. Otherwise they will become a distraction, fatiguing wearers instead of helping the session run smoothly.
  • Dress In Layers
Studios try so hard to get air comfortable and quiet. But even the best built system can be too warm or cold for someone. Worse, the temp may rise and fall uncomfortably. Wear a few thin layers — nothing starched, because it’s noisy — to get comfortable again quickly.
  • Popper Stopper
These don’t stop plosives completely, but can keep them tame.
  • Low Rolloff
It shocked me when I finally discovered that this is the secret to minimizing 90% of p-pops. Roll off the bottom at around 100Hz (18dB/octave slope) before the compressor, and have the aforementioned popper stopper. Then, only the most plosive blowhards will p-pop. Well, mic position matters a little too.
  • Analog Compressor
I don’t believe analog tape sounds inherently better. But I do think that people who know how to record to it also condition their signal before they hit the tape. I think that if you present an AD [analog-to-digital] converter with a great signal, you give it a better chance of translating the audio. Almost all voice recording benefits from compression, so I like to put a touch on before the AD converter just like professionals did in ye olden times.
  • Analog Fader
Most people drop their volume at the end of a phrase or sentence. It’s a natural thing to do before a pause, especially as air gets used up. It’s not difficult to anticipate the end of a sentence, providing the opportunity to raise the volume a little at those quieter moments. And if someone is performing more than one take in a row, patterns develop, providing additional opportunities to reach for the quiet moments and pull back on the loud stuff. Sure, you can do that after the AD, but I think you give the converter a better signal if you do some of that up front.
  • Two Great Microphones
Most if not all of the voice recording will be the first mic, probably closer to the performer. But if you put a second mic a bit behind the first one and record it 12dB or lower than the first one, you just bought yourself some distortion insurance. Now don’t use them both at the same time, but back and forth as necessary. If things go well, you will never need the second mic. Like the fire department.
  • Packing Blankets
If there are unwanted reflections in the mic, something is rattling, or it’s deathly cold, nothing is as handy as a packing blanket. They’re especially useful for location recording, acoustically untreated spaces and multi-use rooms.
  • Fully Accessorized Music/Script Stand
I prefer to use two stand lights for better coverage. A piece of carpet covering the stand helps reduce reflections back into the mic, and reduce vibrations. Always have writing utensils (pencils erase!).

Many people tend to drop their head away from the mic as they read down the page. A large paper clamp at the top of the stand helps keep eyes looking up, which can raise the head overall and even be used to hold a folded piece of paper after you’re done with the top portion.

Here is a cool video I also found helpful which you might too!! On microphone placement in recording from ROYER microphones.
